Be a Super Tournament Marshal

May 19, 2020

The Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit is professional bass fishing’s premier five-fish-limit tournament trail, and it’s about to get a whole lot more exciting for the remainder of 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdown put the bass fishing world on hold. Upon its return, FLW is rolling out major changes to the Pro Circuit (full details can be found here) for the final three regular-season derbies on the new schedule. The biggest of these changes: the inclusion of 56 Major League Fishing professionals to bring the “Super Tournament” field size to 209.

These Super Tournaments will feature the likes of Andy Morgan, Bryan Thrift, David Dudley, Edwin Evers, Dean Rojas, Wesley Strader and Jacob Wheeler and include larger payouts – and more places paid – for the entire field.

What that means for you, the fan, is additional opportunities to get out on the water with the best in the business for a front-row seat. The FLW Marshal Program is a tremendous opportunity to spend a couple days (and sometimes more) in the boat with the pros, seeing all the action unfold in real-time, right in front of you.

That could mean a chance to be in the boat with Jason Lambert as he goes to work on Lake Chickamauga’s ledges in late June when the Pro Circuit returns to action. It could mean observing Ron Nelson’s process as he hammers on huge smallmouths on the Detroit River to close out the season. Or finessing into skinny backwaters for a power-fishing masterclass with John Cox on the Mississippi River. Or soaking up decades of bass fishing knowledge from Andy Morgan or Skeet Reese or Larry Nixon.

The Marshal Program has been a fantastic opportunity to observe and learn from the pros since its inception. Now, there are more pros to learn from and more legends to meet.

Marshals are crucial for the success of FLW’s on-the-water Pro Circuit coverage. Each marshal lends his or her perspective on what’s happening each minute of the day and reports on every catch that matters. Marshals can find photos they take on FLWFishing.com, alongside photos taken by FLW’s media team. Marshal updates help keep the live leaderboard up-to-date and the FLW Live camera crew in the right place at the right time.

FLW benefits from marshal participation, just as marshals benefit from what they learn while watching the best in the business. And there are prizes.

FLW pays out prize money to the top 10 marshals based on cumulative weight of their anglers’ catches the first two days of each event with a top prize of $2,500.

1st: $2,500

2nd: $1,000

3rd: $750

4th: $500

5th: $250

6th-10th: $100

It’s just $100 to sign up (must be 16 years of age or older) for a VIP experience like no other. There are spots available for all upcoming Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit tournaments:

Lake Chickamauga – June 23-26

Mississippi River, La Crosse – July 29–Aug. 1

Detroit River – Aug. 11-14
